The Castle’s amazing location is the most evocative and romantic site imaginable. Perched on a cliff-top amidst striking scenery with stunning seascape views, it’s a photographer’s dream and it’s not hard to understand why the beauty of this outstanding location has been captured on the silver screen on numerous occasions.

Dunnottar Castle is an intriguing piece of Scotland’s rich heritage, and will provide a unique and unforgettable experience for your clients, whether they are looking for a photo stop opportunity or a visit to a piece of genuine Scottish history.

Specific arrangements can be made for travel operators.  For example a voucher system can be organised to ensure swift entry to the Castle and ease of payment for large groups. The information below will help you to organise and book your group’s visit, but if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Group rates apply to groups of 20 or more visitors

£7 adult

£3 child (16 years old or under)

Free of charge entry for one group leader or teacher per 10 people in a group (only applies to Tour Companies or Educational Establishments)

Groups should arrive at the Castle with the guide at the front to settle the payment before the group enters the grounds of the Castle. The guide is expected to ensure that all members of the group are present before tickets are purchased.

The Castle Coach Car Park is situated off the road nearby the Castle Lodge.

We offer free of charge coach parking space for groups who have pre-booked their visit and are paying to enter the Castle. Our car park attendant will have your name on a list of bookings for that day and allocate your coach a space.

Groups stopping for a photo or sightseeing, but not entering the castle, will be charged £20 per large coach and £10 per small coach. The car parking fee needs to be paid when you arrive by cash (a receipt will be issued) or via a company voucher with all your invoicing details, which must be given to the car park attendant.

Use of toilet facilities at the coach car park is free of charge.

If you are visiting Dunnottar out of High Season – between 17th September and 31st May, for the purpose of a photo-stop only, please ensure you make adequate provision for your guests regarding toilet stops on route as there are no free toilet facilities at Dunnottar during this time.
